of harassment, discrimination, or condescension, whether blatant or through micro-aggressions, such as demeaning jokes or in any other form. Consider what you are saying and how it would feel if it were said to or about you.
Treat everyone with respect.

Harassment is not tolerated. Harassment includes, but is not limited to: verbal, written or visual language and communication that is deemed harmful, prejudicial or offensive, and can pertain to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, among other factors. In addition this policy will not tolerate sexual imagery in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; or unwelcome sexual attention. Participants notified to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

DevBreak21 is an opportunity to celebrate - we want the celebrations to be fun!

Participants and attendees will be held directly responsible for the destruction of personal or public property; the violation of the safety or rights of others; the violation of any law; or the violation of any other DevBreak21 policy that occurs while they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

If any of the above occurs, the participant or attendee will be removed from the event immediately without refund. DevBreak21 reserves the right to notify the authorities if any participant or attendee violates this policy.

If you witness or are subject to
unacceptable behavior

Speak up if you see or hear something. Harassment is not tolerated and you are empowered to politely engage when you or others are disrespected. The person making you feel uncomfortable may not be aware of what they are doing, and politely bringing their behavior to their attention is encouraged. If a situation appears deliberate, serious, or if you feel at all uncomfortable we strongly encourage you to notify an event organizer.

If you are being harassed or feel uncomfortable, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the event staff immediately.

Our event staff are identified by special DevBreak badges/attire.

Please note, we take all concerns raised seriously, we will use our discretion as to determining when and how to follow up on reported incidents.
