About me

Crystal Yan is a product leader and independent consultant focused on creating civic and social impact by designing human-centered products, teams, and organizations. Currently, she is a Product Lead at Remitly, a financial services company in Seattle that helps immigrants send money to loved ones across borders. In her role on the New Initiatives team, she leads teams to launch new ventures and financial services products for immigrants and their families. Previously, she led product and UX teams to design better services for healthcare providers and asylum seekers at United States Digital Service at the White House in Washington DC, a startup within the federal government using design and technology to deliver better government services to the public. She has worked in the US, India, China, and Cambodia and spoken at technology and design conferences across the US, Canada, Mexico, Chile, China, India, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Portugal, the UK, Serbia, and Croatia. She is a faculty member at the School of Visual Concepts and independent leadership coach to senior and emerging leaders in tech.
